On July 3, 2008 Günter
M. Ziegler will receive the 2008 Communicator Prize,
awarded by Stifterverband für
die Deutsche Wissenschaft and the
German Research Foundation DFG
for his outstanding role in communicating between Science and the public - see the press release.

On March 17, 2008 Günter
M. Ziegler received the 2008 Archimedes Prize of the
German teacher's society for mathematics and the natural sciences,
MNU for his role in the
Jahr der Mathematik 2008 - see the press release.

On March 14, 2008 the German Science Foundation DFG announced that
Michael Huber, guest professor in our group,
will be the recipient of a 2008
DFG Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize. The award ceremony will be June 2.
