Lie founded the theory of continuous symmetry - Lie theory - and introduced continuous transformation groups, which today bear the name Lie group. Many more mathematical structures and theorems are named after Lie.

His collected works (German: Gesammelte Abhandlungen) and the volumes on transformation group theory (German: Theorie der Transformationsgruppen) can be found in our classic collection.
