Textbooks for Anaysis, Linear Algebra and Computer-Oriented Mathematics can be found and ordered for loan via the Knowledge Portal Primo. Up to 25 books per person may be borrowed from the Departmental Library of Mathematics at the same time. As an alternative to the printed version, the e-book version of "Fischer" is also available within the TU Berlins IP range.

The MatheBib team wishes everyone a good start into their studies or the new semester!

Please always wear mouth-nose-protection

Friday, 09. October 2020

Person mit Mund-Nasen-Schutz, Vektorgrafik

Starting today, there is a new regulation for the libraries of the TU Berlin: Due to the increasing number of infections, a mouth-nose-mask must now also be worn while sitting at your study table.

The mouth-nose-mask does not replace the distance regulations and the remaining hygiene rules. They must be followed additionally. The hands should touch the mouth-nose-mask as little as possible in order to not contaminate it.

Please comply with the regulations. This way we together lower the risk of infection and the libraries can remain open.

Thank you and stay healthy :)

Opening of a digital reading room

Tuesday, 02. June 2020

Dear students,

the student team of the Mathematics Library now offers a digital reading room via zoom every day Mo - Fr from 11:00 - 16:00. We would like to create a common learning atmosphere there to support you during the online semester.

How does it work?

After the zoom-login you will arrive at the "service desk", where a team member will be available for questions. In the "silent reading room" you can work concentrated alone without being lonely. So please turn mirco off and only the camera on. If you want to work in a group, simply ask the team member to move you to a group study room. There you can talk about homework etc. At the service desk you can also ask questions about borrowing textbooks, accessing e-books, etc.

You can reach us via https://tu-berlin.zoom.us/
Meeting ID 973 5173 9187
Password: 587400

We hope that you like the idea and that we will see you soon in the reading room.

Books available for loan

Monday, 25. May 2020

From May 25th books from the collections of the Mathematics Library and the other departmental and special libraries at the TU Berlin can be borrowed again. Since the libraries are still closed for visitors, books must be ordered in advance via the Knowledge Portal Primo. They are then made available for borrowing centrally in the University Library (VW-Bibliothek, Fasanenstraße 88).

You will be notified by e-mail as soon as the books you have ordered are available. Please pick up your books within three working days Monday - Friday between 10:00 and 16:00. Please bring your library card, staff card or student card with you when you borrow books. It is obligatory to wear a mouth and nose protection in the library building. Please make sure that you keep a safe distance from other people. Sanitary facilities for users are not available. Disinfection equipment is provided.

You can also return your books at the University Library.

Please find more information about current library services here.

If you have any questions about ordering and booking, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Remote access to eBooks and eJournals

Tuesday, 24. March 2020

Ansicht eines E-Books im Wissensportal Primo

Licensed full texts (e-books, e-journals, databases) are accessed via the publishers’ websites, where the IP range of the TU Berlin is activated. From home you need a VPN tunnel into the computer network of the university to be able to access and download the content.

Instructions for the VPN service of the TU Berlin can be found here. For the Institute of Mathematics VPN service, please send an email to staff (at) math.tu-berlin.de. Detailed information will then be sent.

We recommend the Knowledge Portal Primo to search for eBooks and eJournals. Primo is the library catalog of the TU Berlin and also offers the possibility to create literature lists or to export reference information directly. All content we provide can be found there. You can set the search filter „type of publications" to Ebooks to limit your search results.

You can find an overview of the math eBook packages we have licensed here. Individual titles that were published in Open Access are not listed there. Electronic journals and databases such as MathSciNet and zbMATH can also be accessed remotely via VPN.

The Electronic Journals Library is ideal for checking which journals are licensed at the TU Berlin.
